Foundation empowers orphans with vocational skills in Kwara

The Kwara State government has reaffirmed its commitment to collaborating with Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) to eradicate poverty and improve the welfare of orphans and vulnerable children. 

The State Commissioner for Social Development, Hajia Mariam Nnafatima Imam, made the pledge while speaking at a graduation ceremony in Ilorin.

According to her, there is a need for collective efforts in addressing human suffering through poverty alleviation.

She stressed that ensuring the well-being of children and orphans is essential to enabling them to live with dignity and self-esteem.

The Commissioner, described NGOs as agents for social change, noting that strong collaborations will be needed from them to improve public service and enhance delivery of good governance to the vulnerable groups in the state.
